Associate Youth & Young Adults Pastor (Jr. High & Young Adults)

St. Albert Alliance Church (StAAC) is seeking a collaborative and creative leader who is passionate about developing leaders and discipling youth and young adults. The Associate Youth & Young Adults Pastor will play a crucial role in StAAC's mission to help junior high and young adults embody the Good News of Jesus by practicing the way of Jesus. The selected individual will work closely with the Youth & Young Adults Pastor to develop and implement strategies that engage and empower young people to grow in their relationship with Jesus, connect with their peers and serve sacrificially in their neighbourhood. If you are a self-starter who loves to learn, think outside the box and work on a team, we'd love to talk with you. A full position profile can be downloaded at the link below.
StAAC is located in the city of St. Albert in the Greater Edmonton Area (also called the capital region). St. Albert is consistently ranked as one of Albert's best places and most liveable cities, with all the amenities of a larger city and the feel of a smaller community. With a population of over 72,000 people, St. Albert is a prosperous, growing, suburban city with a small-town feel, strong community values, and a high quality of life. Bisected by the tranquil Sturgeon River, St. Albert boasts an excellent array of trails, parks, schools (including the Logos Christian Program), restaurants, businesses, and the largest outdoor farmers' market in western Canada. The city is home to more than 11,000 children and over 4000 teens.

StAAC was planted in 1979 by a small group from Beulah Alliance Church who desired to see the city of St. Albert and surrounding communities transformed by the Good News of Jesus. Forty-five years later, StAAC's mission is to be Good News to our neighbours and beyond by practicing the way of Jesus. We desire to put Jesus first in everything we do and, as such, place a high value on:

  • Listening to Jesus as the functional head of the church.
  • Rooting everything we do and say in the Scripture because it is the divine revelation of Jesus.
  • Serving and growing together as a team as Jesus modelled.
  • Creating engaging environments that help people connect with Jesus.

Jesus has given us four key growth areas to pursue and four big vision goals that only he can bring about in and through us. We are committed to growing in the following areas by 2030:

  • Serving Sacrificially:  Demonstrating love and service to our neighbours and beyond with the goal of reaching and influencing 15% of St. Albert.
  • Growing in Community:  Creating space in our lives to experience authentic relationships and grow in community with the goal of having 110% of our weekend worship active and engaged in small groups.
  • Embracing the Spirit: Growing in confidence and capacity to live in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit every day, with the goal of celebrating 5,000 stories of life transformation.
  • Multiplying Disciples: Equipping, empowering, and releasing people to reproduce disciples, leaders, and churches with a goal of unleashing 1000 Jesus-centred and Spirit-empowered leaders into the capital region and beyond and planting two new expressions of the church.
