Operation Christmas Child

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

St. Albert Alliance will be collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child until November 20, 2022.
If you would like to pack a shoebox, empty boxes can be picked up at the church on Sunday mornings
during our services or at our front office, Monday - Friday from 9am-4:30pm.
Packed boxes can also be dropped off during the times mentioned above.

Ideas to pack your box:

A "Wow" Item
Start with a medium to large item that will capture the child’s attention the instant he or she opens the box. A doll or stuffed animal, soccer ball with a pump, an outfit of clothing, etc.
Personal Care Items
Comb, Hairbrush, Toothbrush, Washcloth, Bar soap (packaged and/or in a container), etc.
Clothing & Accessories
Shirts and pants, dresses (loose-fitting sundress), Underwear, Shoes and socks, Flip-flops, Hat/scarf/mittens, Sunglasses, Tote bag/purse, Hair bows, Friendship bracelets, etc.
Crafts & Activities
Pencils, Small manual pencil sharpener, Colored pencils, Pencil case, Crayons, Markers, Pens, Coloring pads, Coloring books Picture book, Notebooks, Finger paint palette/crayons/markers (non-liquid containers), paint brushes, canvas or paper, Stickers Skipping rope/Jump rope, etc.
Toys
Foam ball, Kickball (Make sure to include a manual air pump so that the ball can be reinflated), Finger puppets, Slinky, Etch A Sketch, Interactive toys that include push buttons, lights, noise (include extra batteries), Stuffed animal, etc.
Personal Note
You may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself, your family, or group. If you include your name and an address, the child may be able to write back.

Please DO NOT include any of the following in your shoebox:

Candy; toothpaste; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.

Please do not pack repurposed medicine bottles or use food containers or boxes when packing items for shoebox gifts.
