40 Day Stand - Week 1

Stand in Awe & Wonder
Day 1 - 7 (Sunday May 23 to Saturday May 29)

Kingdom Reflection:
To reflect God’s Kingdom to this world we must start our forty days by standing in awe and wonder of the one we are standing with and whose kingdom we are standing upon. It’s been said that we live at the mercy of our ideas. Never is this truer than in our ideas about God. If our understanding of God is vague or
impersonal, then what follows in our relationship with him will be vague and impersonal. Inscribed on the Peace Tower in our nation’s Parliament is Proverbs 29:18. It says “where there is no vision, the people perish.” This is referring to a vision of God. Never has there been a greater need for people to have a clear vision of God. This is what we are going to be believing for as we begin. As you meditate on the scriptures provided, ask the Holy Spirit to paint a clearer picture of God. Consider the opening line of the Lord’s Prayer; it begins with a need for revelation and declaration—“our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name.” With that need in mind and with the reinforcement of the passages below, boldly ask God to make His name famous. Believe for the glory of God to cover the earth and bring greater revelation as we stand together.

Scriptures for Meditation & Prayer

After reading each scripture, practice praying its primary theme and focus. Suggestions are included after each one.

Ephesians 1:17-21 TPT
17 I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation[a] to know him through your deepening intimacy with him. 18 I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination,[b] flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling[c]—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones! 19 I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power 20 that was released when God raised Christ from the dead
and exalted him[d] to the place of highest honor and supreme authority[e] in the heavenly realm! 21 And now he is exalted as first above every ruler, authority, government, and realm of power in existence! He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised,[f] not only in this age,[g] but in the age that is coming![h]

Pray for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to flood Canada, the church, and your heart, asking that leaders in Parliament, in ministry, and in individual families would know God better.

Psalm 46:10-11 TPT
10 Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth. 11 Here he stands! The Commander! The mighty Lord of Angel Armies is on our side! The God of Jacob fights for us! Pause in his presence.

Consider areas where you’re anxious and where you’re grasping for control. Intentionally release those things to the Lord. Celebrate the God of Angel Armies that is standing with and fighting for you!

1 Chronicles 29:11 NLT
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.

Praise the Lord for his greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty. Praise Him for his sovereign power and control in all circumstances. Go for a walk and worship the Lord as you enjoy his creation.

Isaiah 40:25-31 NIV
25 “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. 26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. 27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”? 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Be strengthened as you marvel in the faithfulness of God. Ask him to renew and refresh you as look to him and lean on him. Consider writing out a prayer of thanksgiving as you reflect on the God who stands with you!

Psalm 29 TPT
1 Proclaim his majesty, all you mighty sons of Yahweh, giving all the glory and strength back to him! 2 Be in awe before his
majesty. Be in awe before such power and might! Come worship wonderful Yahweh, arrayed in all his splendor, bowing in worship as he appears in the beauty of holiness. Give him the honor due his name. Worship him wearing the glory-garments of your holy, priestly calling! 3–4 The voice of the Lord echoes through the skies and seas. The Glory-God reigns as he thunders in the clouds. So powerful is his voice, so brilliant and bright— how majestic as he thunders over the great waters! 5 His tympanic thunder topples the strongest of trees. Pertaining to the challenges our world is facing, declare God’s glory, strength, and majesty into the areas where people are powerless. Pray for a testimony of God’s greatness in government, health care, education, business, family, media, and all major realms of influence. He can do what no man can!

Ephesians 3:20-21 AMP
20 Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Pray for the body of Christ in Canada, especially for great faith to rise up as believers boldly declare God’s will into being. Play your favourite worship album. As you sing, believe that God will do superabundantly more than all than all we can ask, think, or imagine through the power of his Spirit in the church.

Philippians 4: 4-9 NIV
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anx- ious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me— put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

There’s been a lot of negativity in our world. Let’s change that. Fix your focus on the true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admi- rable, excellent, and praiseworthy things that God is doing. What are those things? Call them into being and thank God for them. Consider making a list of all the things you are thankful for in your life.
