Response to COVID-19

UPDATED March 13, 8:30PM

All of us are aware of the growing global concerns around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We would like to provide our StAAC family with an update on our response to date and our commitment to you moving forward. The health, safety, and well-being of our entire church family is of great importance to us. While the Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the current public health risk associated with coronavirus as low, we continue to monitor for developments very closely and strive to exceed the expectations established by Alberta Health Services.

Although the Alberta Health Services release Thursday afternoon regarding limiting public gatherings, worship services were exempted from that restriction. Our announced intent was to go forward this weekend with services, with a desire to gather (with considerable preparations and cautions in place) for prayer and spiritual encouragement.

Today, more restrictions and cautions were encouraged across our country. We reviewed this decision with prayer and discernment, and out of an abundance of caution, and concern for those in our community, we have decided to gather exclusively online until further notice.

We will be Live streaming our 11:00AM Service, which can also be viewed online throughout the week afterwards. While our building will be closed, we invite you to worship with us online HERE at 11:00AM  and giving is encouraged online HERE  or on your StAAC APP and is vital to helping us continue to be a church that can reach and serve the community of St. Albert.

We hope that you will continue to join us and engage with us online during our services.

We are continually assessing the situation on an ongoing basis. We will be communicating updates via our website, StAAC APP, email, and our social media channels. We realize this virus is creating anxiety, and  it can be easy to fall in the ditch of fear and worry, but as we read through the scriptures, Jesus’ words to us are that his perfect love casts out all fear and He promises to walk with us. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate that apprenticeship to him is authentic and tangible.

Let’s continue to pray for those affected by this and reach out to those who many feel even more isolated in this season of worry.

'Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.' Isaiah 41:10

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
